I've received the Stage 1's, and I want to install today. I won't be able to fire up the engine for about two weeks. If I lube the injectors well with oil and Vaseline, will letting them sit for about two weeks cause any issues? I'm waiting on my IC pipes and boots, but they won't be in for another week or so.
Why not just slap em in and you're that much ahead of the game when the other parts show up? If you've got everything out, it's a piece of cake to throw them in.

Yeah that's what I want to do. I was thinking if I don't fire them off for two weeks the oil they are coated in will drip away, causing an issue later. Probably an ignorant question but I'm trying to think of anything that might cause an issue.

I guess I'm not really understanding this. If you're worried about it sitting, then leave them in the packaging? Lube them when you're ready to install.

I'm sure it's the way I worded the question. I'm good at not asking things in an understandable way... at least that's what my wife says.. ha ha. Too clarify... I'm want to lube the injectors/orings with oil and Vaseline, and then install. They will then sit for two weeks until I get all my IC parts, and then I'll start up. Will installing the injectors and letting them sit in the motor for two weeks be ok, or do they need to fired off relatively soon so the lubrication doesn't sluff off? Sorry for the confusion.
No it will not hurt anything. Putting oil on the orings on install is just to stop you from damaging/rolling a oring. Put em in and don't worry about it.

Thanks again... they're going in tomorrow. I'd do it now but I'm busy working on a good cigar and scrubbing FTE lol.

I'm LMAO, that's what my wife says all the time. I always have to explain in detail what I'm getting at with her or she doesn't get it. She wants 'complete sentences', LOL!!
After I put my injectors in it was quite awhile before I fired mine up.

Thanks... Just put the injectors in Saturday. Yesterday spent the day with the wife riding to the Ocean on my motorcycle. That's get's me bonus points when I'm not speaking clearly!
Well there u go. it will be hard to drive. but im a pretty determined individual lol. where are the pics..i havent seen a build thread either???
I've been taking pictures but just haven't taken the time to get them posted. My excuse is I've started lots of threads asking you all lots of questions as I've expanded the scope of this build since day one. Initially, I was just trying to diagnose why I was losing power and blowing smoke. Then I found three injectors were at issue and I was just going to r&r them. Then I decided hey, why not add the IC? Then... I decided to upgrade to Stage 1's... and on it on it goes... LOL. I will get some pictures posted shortly.

I am so happy that I'm NOT the only one that has that problem.
though i have not had that happen in a while on my truck...my other projects are hoplessly in millions of pieces and not going back together very fast..
