hi all, a few months ago I bought a 56 f100 that I am restoring right now, I would like someone to tell me something about the engine that traey who advise him, has the following equipment:
gearbox three-speed on the bar.
autolite 2100 carburetor.
C2AE block number.
Head right EBZ.
Head left EBV.
I put an image:
61-64 blocks are a little stronger, thats a good thing. Plus it has a spin on filter.
From the picture it looks like it has the early lodomatic distributor, a later model one with mechanical advance would be a better upgrade.
The 61-64 blocks don't have a provision for a road draft tube, there should be one on the valley cover but I don't see it ?
Thanks for your comments, as comentais appears that there are several pieces mixed from different years, the heads are different, which implies that the overall performance of the engine?, not that you mean that deveria tube have, but what blue tube I started to avoid water loss by removing the temperature probe, which came on the left head.
that performance can give with this composition and advise do to improve something, and I have some headers 4-1 for place
I am curious why the entire assembly, as pictured, looks like it has been media blasted. If someone would put 256 heads on a 292,
I wonder what other surprises lurk.
Although the heads have different numbers they are basically the same... with small valves and ports. I don't know what the parts availability is like where you live but some better heads will definitely help performance.
What intake/carb do you have? Don't think headers will help you at this point because the heads are so restrictive.
The Load-o-matic should definitely be changed to a '57 up vacuum/mechanical advance distributor.
I'm looking for a new head there, because there is nothing material for this engine, is the autolite 2100 carburetor two barrel, could get a picture of the dealer advise me?.
Hope you have no more bad surprises
Autolite 2100 is 2 barrel. There are many models, some are good choices for the 292, some are not. They have an ID stamped onto their base, underneath the accelerator pump rod. Post the ID for an assessment of suitability.

If you have not bought it yet, best to perform a "compression test" before you do. The block is possibly the best part of the deal. What are the markings on the transmission? If it is a three speed light duty it is not capable of accepting a lot of torque. If it is a T85 it may be a good find - but only if you need it.
Does your truck have a column shift or a floor shift?
Edit - I do notice that it has mounts at the timing cover and at the bell housing (clutch cover). It does not have the "high-mount fan" or the high-mount fan water pump that has become hard to find. This may affect where the radiator and fan shroud will fit in the vehicle.
hi guys thanks for the comments.
My intention is not to make a major transformation, the truck is going to be original, I'll just go down three inches and place front disc brakes with a new master cylinder.
On the engine I want to improve a little unpretentious to get about 200 horses would be happy, because I intend to use every day.
Change is in the bar.
