back to the engine and transmission and counting that my intention is to get to about 200 hp. you think about the transmission I have and distributor and carburetor would have to put aside to change the heads. could put an electronic kit to the dealer that I have? . what else should I do? thanks
I could not get the link to work. Are you wanting to put a 5 speed overdrive manual
transmission behind the Y Block. That would be so sweet.
I have forgot what transmission you have behind it now. Is it a manual or automatic?
There was a three speed with overdrive available for your truck when it was new I believe. But they are hard to find now and even harder to get some parts for.

have friends, I have a three-speed transmission on the column, "bar". but has the waste rubber bushings, I have seen this on ebay but I'm not sure if I was served and if so how many I need. Thanks http://www.ebay.es/itm/140963447533?...84.m1423.l2649
The three speed tranny you have wouldnt be synchronized for down shifts to first gear. In other words you would need to be almost fully stopped to shift from 2nd to 1st. Not a killer, you can get used to it. This is when the low rpm characteristics of
the Y-block become a real asset.
Later model F100s with 292 used a fully synchronized 3 speed. Very convenient.
Too bad you arent in the states, I have one, a 1963/64, you could have for very little. It is close to going to the far east. Will it match up with your bell and column shifter? Someone else would need to answer the question.
