I believe this was covered in racinndrummins thread and yes it can be done but why go through the trouble when a studded 6.9 can already handle 30psi+?
Idk what psi my buddy is hitting but with a fresh ip, injectors and a built turbo he has blown 3 head gaskets and stretched the studs out... I'm not going very mild so I don't want to deal with repeatedly replacing head gaskets

Something else is wrong... he has a head/deck machining issue and/or he is not installing the studs correctly. ARP studs should hold at the fuel/boost levels available for an IDI... even a built one.

Jonathan is exactly right...
There is some sort of other issue... We have seen 40+ psi boost, and 365whp/685wtq with 7/16 studs on NMB2's build.... Either he isn't doing it right, or has some sort of flaw in the head/block surface...
I have seen nmb2's build thread and I thought he had a couple head gasket issues?.. But I understand and thank you everyone for keeping me from wasting $$$ on that!
