Wondering if anyone of the Excursion owners here have added an external transmission filter . Going to be installing a 6.0 trans cooler (got lucky and found a brand new unused one cheap), and was thinking about also installing an external filter.
Already have a Magnefine 1/2 inch filter that I just bought, but thinking maybe a B&M external would be better. Need some input from those who have been there done that. Thanks
I like the add on pressure gauge. Makes me feel good to be able to see my trans pressure. Also the built in bypass is nice. So even if your filter is clogged your trans won't starve.
Ill be changing my filter soon. Just did. 5000 mile tow with a 14k trailer. I'm interested to see what's inside the current filter.
I have dieselsites coolant filter and after 500 miles I had 2 table spoons of crap even after a flush

What does the pressure gauge tell you? Get as technical as you like, I can follow it.
The built in bypass is redundant. The transmission already has a built in bypass. If the external filter plugs AND it's bypass sticks shut the trans won't starve because there already is a bypass on the trans.

Mark....do you have any suggestions regarding external transmission filters? Type, location, etc. Any you would recommend?
