Sorry if there is already a tire fitment guide or similar post but im going nuts trying to figure out if 40's will fit on my crew cab or not. i think they will but im not sure. it has 9" of lift, 6 suspension and 3 body. no shackles or anything fancy like that, just springs and body lift. it has military 37's on it now and dwarfs them, but they run small (around 35 inches). i would like to get a set of 16/40-16 Super swamper LTB's and mount them on 16x10 steel wheels, 4 inch backspacing. im sure id be safe with 38's but they dont make the ltb in that size for a 16 inch wheel. those are what i want, very agressive and cheap. dont drive the truck that often either. i can get some wheel spacers if i need to also. so what do you guys think, any info or pics would be appreciated. id post a pic but im not sure i can.
Welcome to FTE Jake!. Why don't you post a picture of the current setup? then it will be easy for us to let you know, suspension lifts and custom work often turn different results in different trucks, so a picture is a must.
With the body and suspension lifts you have and PROPER BACKSPACING of the rims(no frame rub while turning), should fit. May have to cut fenders depending on frame flex.
Ok i think i finally figured out how to post pictures. this is the only one i have on my computer at the moment. you can see how small the 37's look (but they are really only about 35" tall) this truck is mainly just used for cruising, its a little long to do any real wheeling with, plus its just to straight for me to bash up, i really dont want to trim any sheet metel either, maybe cut out fender flares but there some $$. i will definatly get some spacers to keep the tires away from the frame if needed.
From the picture you can tell you have plenty of space under there, and since you aren't doing any crazy flexing you shouldn't have any problem fitting 40s in there.
