For all that are running 315/75/16's I would like to know what you think is the best way to lift the truck? Should i go with a 6" or 4" suspension, or maybe a 4" suspension with a 2 inch body.? I would really like to run 16x10 wheels because i like the look of the deep wheel plus i like for my tires to stick out past the fenders a little. What do you guys think the best setup would be? Thanks for all your help.
Just my $.02 but if you go with the 4" you will WANT the 6" so just do the 6" first and save yourself the money and aggravation. Most manufacturers do not recommend the body lift and the suspension lift together. I am not sure why but...
Good Luck
Superlifts chart recomends 5" of lift to clear that size tire. With those wheels you still might have to trim the plastic at the front of the front wheel wells. I have 295\75\16's on 16x8's and no lift they clear but I had to trim the plastic. Soooo looks like a 5 or 6 inch lift would be the best. Here is the address of the chart.
I have an 02 Ext Cab FX4 with a 3" body, raised torsion bars to level out the front. 315/75/16 with 16x8" wheels. I can clear the 35s with ease and barely trimmed a bit of plastic off the front air dam. With my gap guards and the Rancho shocks w/the FX4 it pretty much looks as if its a 4" suspension and Ive sat next to an identical truck with the 4" and we sit pretty much even in height. The whole package only costed me around $1200. For an extra $100 you could add a leaf in the rear and add about 2" more.
Yah I agree with "ritchie" if you can afford it, suspension is awesome! I didnt want to fork out the money personally just for looks on the truck. Like I said, I only spent around $1200 on American Racing rims, X-terrain style tires, lift, and guards. The suspension alone would have costed more than that! And I still sit level with a 4"
