Want to order new truck what kind of deal should I shoot for?

I'm wanting to order a new Super Duty. I was thinking invoice - rebates - half the holdback - advertising fees. My logic being they wouldn't have to have it sit on their lot costing them money or advertise it. I know they probably won't go for getting rid of the advertising fees because they usually say it goes into some pool and they're not allowed to touch it or something like that. They also have hidden incentives that they get back from the manufacturer in addition to the holdback and advertising fees but I don't have any idea what those would be unless they told me. Would this be feasible or what should I shoot for?

What I have seen is about 10 to 12k off MSRP on the 2013's. Don't know on the 2014's.

When I ordered my 13 I got it for invoice minus rebates. Don't really know how much better you'll do on an ordered truck. One on the lot you may see more off, but when the truck is not sitting on the lot, they don't need to deal..............

Around here even on the lots, all I have ever seen in around 8K off sticker. Never seen 10-12K off. Mine was around 7K off sticker and just a bit under x plan pricing.

I guess it depends on where you are and how far you are willing to go for one. Last year when I was up in Bosie I stopped by the Ford dealership there, Lithia Ford, and every super duty on the lot was marked $12,000 off. I ended up using their price to negotiate a $12,000 off MSRP at a dealership closer to me when I was ready to buy. Just checked their web site and they have 33 2013 F-250's and a dozen or more F-350's most $11,000 or more off MSRP.

20% off sticker is usually (not exact) invoice and that's what we shoot for. All our trucks (6) were purchased at invoice price with any rebate available applied as well.

I've always believed if the dealer is down to negotiating with their Holdback, you're in good shape.

Howdy,

I just test drove a fully "loaded" 2013 F350 8', bed+ moon-roof, Diesel King Ranch 4x4 today.

the MSRP came in at $67220 and the salesman offered it to me at $62356.

Using KBB.com's price estimator, I got the following. (The only thing I left out was the moon roof in the estimation.)
.
  • <label class="condition"> MSRP </label> $65,310
  • Fair Purchase Price $58,360
  • <label class="condition"> Dealer Invoice </label> $59,570
.
If I can get a dealer to sell me one at $12000 under MSRP, I'll like that.

Looking the Lithia (Boise) website, it appears that they have several F-350's and 250's listed for MSRP minus approx $8000 with an additional $4500 rebate.

Using the USAA buying service, I got the following for a similarly equipped truck But I don't know if the same rebates would apply

TARGET PRICE $58,418 A potential savings of $6,872 (10.52%) off MSRP of $65,290
I was looking for a nice Excursion but couldn't find a decent 7.3L model that wasn't thrashed.....And I was steered away from any 6.0L model.

So my next best choice looks to be a new 6.7L truck.

I got mine for $13,000 off sticker, and it was the first Platinum F250 the dealership sold.
