So turns out my 64 mercury has a 223 engine in it and a 63 box with no bumper, any advice on where to find a roll pan for the back so I dont have to get it crafted? Also any good online places for patch panels get at me.
In the search bar type-roll pan. Then -hit enter.A whole bunch showed up for me.NPD has some with louvers and lic plate cutouts and some without. These are for stylesides. You didn't say what you had.
A 1964 will have the new correct looking (Styleside) box.
But only if it's a 2WD. 4WD's used the 1957/60 Styleside "wrong" beds. MercuryMic: So called because the bed lines don't match up to the cab lines.

Leftlower pic: 1957/60 Styleside beds installed on the following 1961/66 Ford/Mercury pickups: 1961/65 100/250 4WD - 1961/66 350 (9' Express only) - 1962/63 100/250 2WD - 1966 250 4WD
As Dave said, post the VIN - The last 6 digits is the serial number, decode to the month/year it was assembled.
One way to tell a 1961/63 from a 1964/66 is by the front bumper bolts. 1961/63 use 3 bolts per side in a triangular shaped pattern, 1964/66 use 2 bolts per side.
It must be a 63 then, I thought the registration must be wrong when I was looking at pictures on the Internet mine looks like the 63 more than the 64, thank for all your help also is 223 the accurate engine size?

1954/64 223: Intake/exhaust manifolds located on the left (drivers) side.
