Tailgate interchange ???'s
I recently acquired a 2000 F150 7700 regular cab long bed and in the future I will need to replace the tailgate. There is a mint one close by from a 2002 screw. Can anyone tell me if it will fit mine? Thanks.

It should fit. If it is a later super duty, you may have to buy the two hinge parts bolted on the side of the bed. I know there are some aftermarket tailgates available fully painted with all hardware delivered for under $500 on e-bay. I am not sure of the gage of metal used.
I stopped by a local salvage yard and the guy wanted $700 for an 01 tailgate in great condition. I put on a $15 net for right now. I just do not drive my 98 f250 enough (only 34,900 miles currently) to justify replacing it yet.
