HELP! Been trying to fix Power Steering Lines For 2 Weeks! Parts Won't Fit!
I have a 97 F-350 w/ the 7.5 Engine.
I have a huge leak in the power steering lines so I replaced them both. I ordered them from Advance Auto and installed them. On both of the lines, the connector that screws into the pump itself there was an attachment on the end to make a tight fitment (where the 0 Ring would go).
The lines I got do not have anywhere to put an O-Ring and there is play on the Pressure side line when i just screw it in. On top of that, there is a piece that seems to be missing. I have included a picture of the old piece. As you can see there is a metal piece attached to the end of the screw in part that made for a better fitting inside the pump when screwed in, and that does not exist on my lines and I cannot even find that as an option on advance auto's computer system at their store. the line I got is def the correct hose and tube assembly, but I just need the small metal piece at fits into the end? Can anyone speak from experience what is going on here and what I have to do to fix it? Thanks!
