Tailgate fit

My dad recently bought a 2012 f250. The tailgate is missing due to a previous owner failing to drop the tailgate before pulling out from under a gooseneck trailer. We're having a hard time finding a used tailgate. I thought I would try and find out if a f150 tailgate would fit.

The f150 tailgate will not work. You can use any tailgate from a '08+ super duty for An exact match.

ETA. Did you look on craigslist? I see tailgates come up for sale quite a bit?

Ok. Wasn't sure. I saw an older f250 with a f150 tailgate on it. Was hoping there was some years of f150 that would fit on a newer f250.
