2002 7.3 powerstroke timing

my 02 f350 does not start, im getting oil from my hpop, fuel to the bowl all fuses are good, good fuel bowl heater. has a brand new rebuilt engine. cranks great but wont start I had a mechanic look at it and said the timing was off, was exactly needs to be timed and how do you time it?

I recommend you stop using that mechanic. A HEUI diesel is nothing like a gasser... or even other consumer diesels. You have a sensor and a control module with a program... and he has no way to "know" the timing is out. There are troubleshooting links near the end of my signature.

It could be as simple as a CPS. Please never take your truck back to that "mechanic" ever again. You can't "time" a diesel like a car.

Right, is the lpop timed at all? And I have a new icp on it , CPS, idm, valve cover gadgets, gpr, pigtails, fuel filter, just not starting

Has the engine been started at all since the rebuild? It takes about 3 qts of oil to fill the cylinder heads and reservoir, did you prime anything during assembly?

The cam and crank are timed. Did you align those correctly?
Are you using the old style front cover or HPOP by any chance?...

Has not been started since rebuild. Cranks but no start I'm using same cover by a t500 hpop, I did make sure to time the cam. It takes 3 quarts after cranking?
