I don't remember what they called it but they said that is what they were able to determine it was.

Long story short, I had the same issues as you and this is what the dealership told me.

I seemed to have fixed mine by bypassing the battery saver relay built into the instrument cluster check out the other thread I put a link to in a previous post. I posted up some pics and a step by step in that thread. Cheap and worth a shot

I did see your bypass. That was pretty crafty. I read that and was just thinking to myself how I don't know nearly enough about vehicles to figure all of this out. Especially because I had all of the same issues with my truck, in addition to it not starting. So I offered the explanation that I gave ...thinking that it might help. If this had to do with housing construction or guns, boats, hunting or something, I might have been able to help more! Anyways, I hope this helps someone out there or helps guide them.

Starter relay? Ignition switch? Does anything come on when you turn the key? Any noises?

I know it's an older truck but if you look in this photo and see that plug

You may/should have something like that. It is the wire that goes down to the starter
solenoid if you put 12V to it the starter should turn. The easy way to find yours would
be to work back up from the starter and see if you can find the quick disconnect and try
and see it the starter will turn over. If it does then the starter to that point is good.
Then from that point check the other side to see if you getting any voltage when you turn
the key to start.

One thing that would really help you is a wiring diagram for you truck. It would remove a lot of
the guessing and pinpoint things.
