How does engine behave when Manifold Air Temp. or MAP sensor aren't functioning properly?
I was hoping someone could explain the Manifold air temp. sensor's role in engine operation. More specifically, how would the engine behave if it's not functioning properly?
I would also be interested in learning how the engine would behave if the MAP sensor was not functioning properly?
I can tell you that a friend of mine's MAP sensor was missing and once we realized it and fixed it his truck run much better. Beforehand it was really sluggish.
Thanks Tim! I'm trying to address an engine miss that is most pronounced at 1200 rpms and excessive black smoke when I put my foot into the throttle when rpm's are low.
I think I'll try replacing the MAT sensor to see if anything changes.
