Is The Act Sensor The Same As The Iat Sensor?

i was wondering if the ACT( air charge temp.) sensor was the same thing as the IAT(intake air temp) sensor?

1988-1992 = ACT

1993+ = IAT

Same sensor. Name change came along with the SAE J1930 standardization of auto terminology in 1993.
