Instead of resurrecting a dead thread I am starting over. I don't want to start with something that wasn't getting anywhere.
I will finally have time this weekend to get back to the diesel and try to discover why it is getting lousy mileage.
Here are the steps I will take to get the data to flow. If I am doing something wrong I would appreciate your input. The last time I did this I got no live data of any kind, not even RPMs.
1. Plug in the USB cord to the AE device.
2. Plug the USB cord into my lap top.
3. Plug the AE Device into the truck
4. Turn the ignition to the run position.
5. Open the Scan software.
6. Select "Connect" from menu
7. Set Vehicle to 2002, Ford, 7.3 Power Stroke, non-ODBII, Enhanced Powertrain.
8. Allow AE to collect the sensors and return any codes.
9. Start the truck
10. Select sensors to monitor (See AE Class is in session).
Doing anything wrong? If I follow these steps and I get no data, what should I look for?

Sorry for the brief hijack
A dongle is a security device that "unlocks" purchased options within the software...
Depending on how old your AE is it may not have been included with the security dongle(USB or similar device).
