I have a 2005 F-250 with 117000 miles (Head Studs already changed). Last year in August I had a no start condition, I left the truck sitting for a week when I rolled it into the street to load it on a trailer to haul it to Ford I tried to start it again and of course it started. So I took it to strictly diesel in phoenix and had them run a complete scan. They found no codes and the truck was operating within normal parameters. What Dennis told me might be the problem was a faulty STC valve.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> Well fast forward to last week I drove the truck and went out the next day and it wouldn’t start. Rolled it out in the street and still wouldn’t start. Before I start tearing the truck apart I want to know for sure that it is the STC valve. Is their anyway to know for sure before I start the job.
<o></o> Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean it wont start??
Turn the Key and NOTHING??
OR turn the key and the Starter DOES Engauge but will not RUN
Need More Info
1. Have you checked the EASY Stuff like Batterys and Alternator & clean connections
2. Checked ALL Fuses
3. what is the service history ie..Fuel filters and oil change stuff like that
4. scanned for DTC/CEL/CODES might have one now FWIW
5.checked for any loose connections engine wire harness
6. checked the wireing at the Fan Shroud
Your best bet here would be some Gauges
A ScanGaugeII is awesome unit for cheap 160.00 at AutoZone or here www.scangauge.com
Make shure you get the SGII and not the other ones they sell SGII dont get all DTC does some of them
but gets a ton of PID/Gauges and with all these gauges Most can figure out whats wrong if there is an issue
The SGII will monitor a TON of stuff that way you can rule things out Need to check values for
HPO System ICP and IPR%
FICM Power stuff like this
Truck cranks but wont start. I have a SCT tuner and im getting no codes. All Fuse's have been checked and are good. Oil gets changed every 4 to 5k and the fuel filters are changed every 10K. Cant find any lose connections.
Will that gauge work without the truck running and why wouldnt my SCT tuner pick up any codes concerning the icp. Also I disconected the ICP and tried to start the truck and it just cranked but no start. So I pluged it back in.
Yes Sir we will check the values at KOEO and Crank
If there is a Bad sensor value should be able to see it. If the STC is bad it might not have enough HPO to fire the injectors we need to see ICP and IPR% to see health of the HPO system

It may not have set a DTC yet

IMO a ScanGaugeII would be a BIG Help Odds are High that the SGII could point you in the right direction. Even if you cant see a problem with the SGII its good to have to keep an eye on things
I dont think the STC Fitting is the problem as it wouldnt have Ran the other day after you moved the truck. In theroey if STC was BAD it wouldnt start untill it was repaired.
Im thinking the problem might be an electrical connection or wire chaffe
Check the Wires at the plug at the Fan shroud for chaffe
Try to wiggle the engine wire harness around and start
I am also experiencing a no start condition. 06 6.0 F350, drove truck all day Friday, 5-5, started and ran fine on trip to tawn and back total about 120 miles. Went out to start Sat. morning and no start. It fires on the first try then dies. After that it just turns over but won't fire. Let it sit for a while and it does the same thing again. I don't have a scanguage yet but after reading this thread I ordered one. I was going to start tearing everything down for all the upgrades I want to do but decided that finding out what this current problem is first would be a good idea. I would hate to go through all the upgrades and still no start. Is there a site or post with all of the codes and their discriptions so when I get my scangauge I can figure it out or can I get ahold of you to pick your gray matter for help? Also I was looking at an injector harness release tool, should I order this? I will be pulling the heads to do the studs.

whats the service history
Just use a socket to release the Injector Harness from rocker box
Also just push the litttle clip in towards the center it will release the wire harness from injector pigtail
