Tire size and OBD code

gonna put 33x12.50 15 's on this 3.55 gear EB.

Was wondering if I would feel and dip in acceleration, or if it would be sluggish...

I am trying to figure the gear and it look's like it come to about 3.18...

I don't know if I can put those 33's on the rims they weigh a ton...

I am sure 1000 people will help at the shop..

Any input would help, I am getting there..

Thanks///

And I have a p1135 code that flip the light every drive cycle...

new egr valve, even plugged the egr line fitting going to the egr ( so no action from vaccum would get to egr) and still flip the mil

Any ideas? I am pulling this black hair out of my skull...lol

it say "low flow egr system"

Let me know what you think on either or both.. Thanks

Olga

Ok, you can run those 33" with you current setup, but of course, the acceleration time will be affected a little. The right gearing for that size should be 4.10, and remember you have to match the gearing on both axles or the transfer case (chain driven Borg Warner 1356) will suffer and eventually fail when using the 4WD. You should also consider that size of tire will cause rubbing on several instances, including suspension articulation or flexing, so at least a 2" lift should be installed. That engine is gold and probably has a MAF setup, don't swap any of that (you can still make plenty of performance mods). Your transmission is an E4OD, which would benefit from the mods in the link right down here on my signature.

The codes you posted could be 11 & 35, 11 meaning the system passed one of the self-tests. But I'll let others answer this one.

To summarize your ride:

- Engine: 5.8 or 351 Windsor (351W, not to be confused with the older 351M or newer 5.8 modular engines).
- Transmission: E4OD, an electronically controlled 4 speed auto with overdrive, derived from the older C6.
- Transfer case: Borg Warner 1356.
- Fuel/air management: Most probably MAF (do your air intake tubes join into one before reaching the airbox? that should confirm it).
- ECM: Not so sure, but most probably an OBD II, which means you can retrieve codes with the latest hardware.

You should save that text ^ somewhere for future reference, or use it as a signature in a more compact version, that way others will know what vehicle they're dealing with right away.

Cant really help you on the codes, but with 33/12.50/15 as Encho said you will want 4.10 gears. I am running 33's with stock gears still (3.55) and I could feel a difference, I did lose about 2-3 mpg also.

Question big tires vs little

Thank for all the reply !

I have the geolander 33 x 12.50 on the nice ford aluminum rims.

I just got a really nice set of stock chrome steel wheels and I an maybe put a 235/75 / 15 on them

I do not like the way the acceleration is effect by these big tires.

a 235 75 15 will look great in a new wranger white letter.

WILL I GET BACK my acceleration and responsive with these 235 tires?

BTW the 33x 12.50 15 are like new, there are 4 new and one matching spare with some use on it....

Anyone interested in the set >? just balanced, new stems, Nice polished aluminum Ford Rim wit cap for wheels...

Let me know what anyone thinks on these 235's they are inexpensive and are Good years, I am not looking to pull mud, just to boat to the beach,

235/75 15 with a 2 inch lift any thoughts ?

Thank you Olga

Get 31" tires and you'll be happier, 235s are too small. You might trade those Geolandars for Wrangler Duratracs.
