1978 Gas tank
I just dropped the fuel tank to clean it and found it is beyond repair. It has rusted through on the top half and I'm just going to get a new one. How do I find out if I have the 25 gallon or the 33 gallon? I want to get the same as the original so I can use the factory skid plate.

Just replaced my tank on my 78 not too long ago. I think the rule is that if you have a skid plate then that means you have a 33 gal tank No skid plate = 25 gal. I ordered my new tank from LMC including a new fuel pump, sending unit and gas lines. My tanks was real nasty -sounds like yous is too. Good Luck...
