Transmission temp 'bouncing'
I installed ISSPRO gauges about 4 years ago on my truck and things have worked fine. Now, the transmission temp gauge will 'bounce' 20 to 30 degrees while driving. Never shows an abnormally high reading. This bounce even occurs in the morning at startup when the fluids are not up to temp. The needle with move according to outside temp and load.
Second issue is I hear an occasional squeal from a belt, or that is my guess. With summer, I though it was possibly the A/C compressor. But I still hear the squeal when the HVAC is turned off completely.
So, do I have a bad temp gauge? A blocked trans cooler? Or something more severe?
Reading through some of the other posts I see mention of a 'pump'. Which pump are they referring to?
Was hopping for some pointers before I start replacing parts.
Just for background – I have checked the wires to the temp sender, everything looks fine. Made sure to top up the fluids. Had the transmission flushed and a new filter installed by a local garage about 10K miles ago. Truck is a 2001 with approx 240K. I have never done any work to the transmission (other than fluid changes) since purchasing the vehicle with about 140K on it.
Thanks
Rob
