Hi all. I've been rebuilding my e4od tranny and I've run into a few problems. I test drove my truck afterward and it didn't like shifting gears. From first to second it would rev hi( 3,000+). Then it would feel like I slammed on the brake, then( after a rough and loud CLUNK!) it would finally shift. Never tested beyond that. Drove it home and proceeded to figure out what was wrong. My father, who went to school on auto trannys long ago, and who has opened said tranny a few times, was thinking it could be a check ball or the reverse/low one way sprag is in backwards. I checked the line pressure and it was too high( I know why, and am going to fix it.). I just need to know if that could be the problem, or if I should look for something else that is wrong. I installed a "superior transmissions" shift correction kit and misplaced a spring. The one way sprag being in backwards would be an idiot move bellow my experience, but I also can't afford let my pride get in my way. I'd like it to the check ***** or the high pressure so I don't have to tear the tranny down completely, but I'm also willing to do what is necessary to get her running properly again. Please help.
