E4OD Stuck In Neutral
1990 Bronco E4OD
I was accelerating from a stop light uphill when my tranny suddenly felt like it was in neutral. I can shift the lever into any gear, but it runs like its in neautral in all of them.
I haven't had any noticeable transmission problems until now. How much does a typical E4OD rebuild cost?
I'm reluctant to put much more $$ into this truck due to it's overall condition. Is there anything I can check myself, before I write it off as needing it rebuilt and take it to a tranny shop?

You can put a 0-350 PSI gauge on the pressure test port and see if it's making pressure. If not, the pump or input shaft has failed. If it does have pressure, then it's further in the trans. No matter which way this trans isn't going to run again without a rebuild.
