I magically got the van to start when I unplugged the icp. Again today I had icp readings on my edge but now I'm back to square one. Idles at 725 psi throwing p1210 and p1211 code every time I start it. Ill post another video tomorrow so you can see what I mean. It has me very confused....
I think we should be discussing that dead spot in your motor... but at least I can answer a few of your questions.
The ICP sensor tells the PCM what your high oil pressure is, and the computer adjusts to get the desired pressure. When the ICP fails, it almost always exaggerates the reading... meaning it says the pressure is high, the computer turns down the IPR, and the engine is fed lower Injector Control Pressure. Unplug the ICP and the computer tells the IPR to go to one number (about 14% while idling) and the ICP shows an artificial 725 PSI. Remember, the ICP sensor is unplugged, so whatever ICP reading is on the screen is computer generated.
Now... about that dead spot. You're going to get real jumpy ICP with a dead injector or injector signal. I would pull the 42-pin connector and ohm out your injectors - about 3 ohms each, and the Driver side has the even-numbered injectors:
I check all the injectors and got right around 3 ohms on each one all a little higher actually. I just pulled the engine harness off and found some bad wires but the plug that goes into the turbo pedestal for the ebpv I believe it is. That plug ha bare wires touching each other so I'm not sure if that messed stuff up. I'm also fixing the IPR plug while I have it out since I did a cheap tape job on those wires do you think this could affect anything? I still have that miss though....
I'm going to pull the ebp off and clean that along with the tube and fix this ebpv flap on the turbo since the PO wired it open and it's stuck in place now. I'm tempted to drop the tank and check the fuel screens also. But I'm pretty sure the miss is on the passenger side of the engine because I can feel a thud very good over there so once I get it back together. Ill pull that valve cover off and start the engine then disconnect injectors and see what happens! Good idea or no?!
I agree especially after 235k on what look like stock injectors. Ill fix the harness and get it back in the van. I already cleaned the ebp and ebpv flap. I should have it running again on Friday. Ill let you know what I discover!
Wow I feel retarded. I was snooping around under this van and stumble across a metal box so I dropped it off te frame rail and found the second battery in it.... Wrong batter and no charge at all left in it. Can this cause a serious electrical problem with the engine?! I assume so I know proper batteries is a must have!
