No start, IPR?

No start, IPR?
Dad's 99.5 stock PSD just died on the road. Had it towed, 3 codes were pulled. One for the CPS, he did not say what the code number was, P470 Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction and P1212 ICP Voltage Not at Expected Level. Changed out the CPS and it did not start. Oil level in the truck was good. Researching this website and my Ford books, I am wondering if the IPR went bad, and if there is a way to check it out without changing it.
