I sent my HPOP to be rebuilt and bought a new IPR before I put it all back together. I figured it was better to go with new.

Thanks for the tip on the injectors. I am sure there are a few van guys that would like that info.

Late to the party.

2200 PSI is normal start ICP (30% IPR), then it backs down to 700 while warming up (14% IPR), then eventually it creeps down to 475 PSI (11% IPR). If the ICP is unplugged, the IPR will default to 30% while cranking, 14% cold at idle, and 11% warm at idle.

Threads visible on the IPR? The nut fell off and the IPR solenoid coil is moving. This will cause the symptoms you describe.

Probably did not need a new ipr just needed to screw the tin nut back on it. Mine did this last year and it ran poorly and wanted to die. I screwed it back on and it has been good since. Not hurting.g anything by going g new though.

maybe for the OP< but with my rig having 332k on the clock I dont want to have to go back in later to replace it. cause its a paint in the **** for sure. that assuming it can wear out or degrade. but really not sure how it works.

ok thanks for the info tugly! i did an IPR re seal just a little bit ago got it all back together had bare wire showing on the wires to the IPR taped them off for now but its all plugged back in. went to start van. same problem starts up then shuts off. so i unplug the ICP bingo! van starts! at a dead even 725 psi! default mode. so i shut it off and plug the ICP back in. starts up and runs all over the 800 range but i get a p0211 code something like that saying ICP lower/higher engine running.... bad ICP harness?? or just a junk ebay part? pretty confused now. im going to start it back up and drive it around to make it get up to operating temp then see what my edge is saying. ill get back to you guys. also i have a new IPR harness on the way.

ok i went out and pushed on the icp plug a little. van started up noticed the CEL on so i checked for codes. that same p1211 code came up and its running at 725 psi even so it must be in default mode. im guessing i have a problem with the ICP plug. ill look up how to test it and see if i can test it real quick. let you know what i find out. thanks guys

I don't know if it can be tested, but considering you have an part of unknown origin, I would bite the bullet and order one from Riffraff so you know what you have.

Thanks for the other info. I'm leaning toward its something with the engine wire harness... I had the key on engine off and something kept clicking when I wiggled wires around the ICP and IPR? Any ideas what that could be? I'm going to replace the IPR plug and ICP plug on Tuesday for sure. Ill keep you guys updated.

So if I keep getting a p1210 and p1211 code could those be from the same problem??? Shorted wire?!

I'm lost where we left off. The truck runs fine with the ICP out, but as soon as you plug the ebay bargain ICP, it misbehaves? The code will be there and the SES light will be on if you unplug the ICP with the key on.
