I've got an 07 EB Expedition with electronic front and rear A/C. The problem I have is an intermittent one and I have been researching/trying to figure out what is going on. But this is now becoming mission critical with summer upon us as this vehicle is my wife's primary transportation.
In short, from time to time, cool air will stop blowing out of the selected vents. If I switch the vent from the fronts to the floor, defrost, or combination, I hear switching sounds in the dash but no change in terms of air actually coming out of any vent. The blower/fan is still running as I can hear it and I feel a very faint amount of cool air from the front vents. If I shut the truck off for a period of time, upon restart, the air will blow again and the vent selection works fine. To further complicate things, sometimes the air will be blowing fine while the truck is running, it will then stop coming out for a second or two, then start blowing out again. The rear a/c works fine. I'm at a loss.
I'd surely appreciate somebody pointing me in the right direction. Many thanks for your time.
i have same problem 05 F250 did you find out a fix?

I did not. Everyone I've spoken to keeps suggesting the blend door, but that makes no sense to me. It is not a temperature issue. It has to do with switching/no air coming out of the vents. Still searching for answers.

I took my '99 Lightning in for AC service this summer, they fumbled for 3 times and finally got it minimally fixed, so I bailed on that dealer. Then I started having problems just like you described. I think it is the blend door not actuating, but it is intermittent. I sure hope someone reads this that has an answer!! They screwed up the controls so every position runs the A/C, maybe related?
We havent seen problems with blend doors on 07 Expeditions. You probably have a vacuum issue. Could be the vaccum switch if it has EATC or a vacuum line, reservoir, actuator. I dont think the control head has a vacuum switch on the EATC models directly attached, it has a remote switch under the dash actuated by commands from the EATC control head. Being an EB you likely have EATC
Upon further review I see that this model year uses electric motors on the doors so it would more likely be due to a bad actuator. I have seen some doors get stuck due to foam coming off the doors and lodging inside the plenum, but since it corrects with a key cycle it is more likely an actuator or control head.
