My 1982 f-150 has non functional vents, you can hear the doors open and close to let the air in and out, and you can hear it switch from floor to defrost to vent, but nothing comes out, the blower motor runs perfectly but alas no air from the directional vents in the dash
The Best Truly Never Rest
Well it looks like you have kind of the same problem I have but a little different. I took the glove compartment out and watched the little arm going through that silver thing. No idea what it is called but it seems to be working. Tomorrow I am taking off the black plastic shroud behind the glove compartment to see why my doors are not opening and closing. All I get is air out of the AC vents. No Defrost air blowing and no change from when I switch from floor to mix or anything like that. I hope to see what might be going on when I get this open and can take a look at what happens when I change settings. I have a feeling there something unhooked so my doors won't open and close. Good luck and I will let you know what I find tomorrow.
Is there air coming out of the defrost and the floor vents? I have mine tore apart and found my problem. The damn flapper that blocks the vents to redirect won't close off my AC vents in the dash. The damn flapper door gets stuck and won't flip to close them. Now that I have it figured out I need to figure out how to fix it. If you defrost is working and your floor vent is working I will bet your vents are disconnected. Let me know and I can tell you what to check. Mine is all laying on the floor board tore apart so I can walk you through everything pretty easy.
