I do not detect ANY difference between air flow (anywhere) when switching between the "bi-level" setting and the "vent" setting....even on the highest fan setting.
Is this normal? I woulda assumed that the bi-level would shut off the center dash vents and re-direct THAT air to the floor, while leaving the side vents flowing.....that's what my 250SD did anyway...
I know I can always manually shut the center vents at will, but seems kind of silly to have the two position settings and not have them do anything different between them.
Mine has the auxillary cooling package, though I can't imagine that has any impact on the front air controls/vents.
Every vehicle I've ever had with a bi-level setting moved air from both the dash vents & the floor vents. If you're not feeling it from the floor, I'd ask another dealer.
Is the bi-level same as AC high on your truck? AC high recirculates the internal cabin air. Can you hear a change in th system when you hit the switch? If not, you might have a vcacuum door actuation problem - door that regulates inside/outside air.
Max setting just opens a door to recirculate the cabin air, the fan sounds louder. Sounds like a vent vacuum hose popped off. Check your manual, it will show what each setting does. I think bi-level should be dash and feet.
