HVAC Problem

Hi folks...

I have a 1999 Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4L with 170K miles. Runs like a champ.
Vehicle has electronic HVAC controls.
I have 2 problems that might be related:

1. Regardless of the temperature setting, when set to either heat or vent, the air coming out is very hot, even on vent.
Vent wont blow cool recirculated air...even in this cold Chicago winter!

2. When the engine is under load & accelerating, if the blower is set to either heat or vent, the air will stop blowing out of the floor or dash vents, & will blow out of the defrost vents until acceleration is over...then air flow will return to the proper setting.

Could this be due to either a vaacum leak or a failed temperature blend door actuator?

Thanks in advance for everyones help & input!

John

I'd say you have both.

I agree with madsonp. The temp issue sounds like a blend door issue and the airflow issue under acceleration sounds like a vacuum problem.
