Stewart, doesn't even an empty mounting hole raise an eyebrow when you go to get a smog check? Or do you have a user friendly station?
No.
They have no idea what the JMS mount is supposed to hold, so as far as they know, it was a previously installed security module that's been removed.
I will say this though, the station I go to is one that, while it is above board, they don't try and fail you. They will if there's something wrong, but they don't act like detectives trying to find reasons to fail you, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the reply. I am afraid the my local guy may not be that user friendly. He has told me initially that he would fail me due to the AFE intake in spite of the CARB sticker on the housing
man, that stinks. I don't know if my emissions station is nice ir what. But I asked the guy that did my truck last week about chipping the truck. He said as long as I had no SES light on and the sniffer read in the correct range. That it did not matter what I did with in reason.

Well, by law, he can't do that since all aftermarket intakes/filters are allowed on diesel rigs. So, that makes him an idiot and everything should be done to avoid him.
i'm sure glad they done away with the testing here in cincy about 10 yrs years ago.
they realized they had a problem when brand new car's straight off the lot were failing the test and the local news station was there to film the whole thing for them.
