Thanks. Did you use velcro to mount it to your dash? Debating on a Hydra or an F6 tuner but i want to know my my mounting options before i buy. Both seem to be good tuners for our trucks and the service from both seem good also and i don`t want to hack up my dash or, at the very least, as few holes as possible.

I cut a hole in my dask to accomodate the JMS switcher from DP. The Hydra switcher doesn't quite fit that mount, but a little work with a file made it fint. I suspect, but don't know, that you could make any of the DP mount options work.

I personally hate velcroed crap, but lots of folks don't mind it all, and it does open up mounting options.

Good luck with the tuner choice. Both DP and Gearhead (what I run on the Hydra) write great tunes, but neither are perfect. I much prefer DP's shift strategies for towing, but prefer Matt's engine calibrations. I actually switch between the F5 and Hydra depending on whether I'm towing, or not, and that's a real pain.

DP has a switcher that fits in a gauge hole and they also have a mount that fits around a gauge (links below). I have an original plastic prototype of the one that fits around the gauge and have had it for almost 5 and a half years. The production ones are made of metal. It looks crooked in this photo, but at the time, I had it upside down. It sits straight now.

I'm a lefty, so mine is on the other side of the steering wheel from Mark's.

Not a Hydra chip, but close enough. It just sits there and doesn't move or rattle. I like it.

Jeff, I think where we have ours is the handiest place on the dash. Easy to see, easy to reach, out of the way...

I agree with you, Mark.

x2 on the DP shift strategies. They work very well for towing. I like the engine calibrations as well, but only have the edge juice to compare to. What a difference! I am limiting the rig to 60e and 60t, because 80e and 80t maxes out my HPOP (AE says IPR duty cycle is 100% at times, and ICP is down to 1700psi)

That is true - a T500 is in my future. I'm hoping to limp along until new sticks are needed. I'm happy with the power with what I currently haul and the mountain passes I travel. Shoot, I'd be happy to have clean coolant at this point.

I kind of agree!

Stewart, when I was figuring out my install, your pics helped me make the decision.

Stewart, doesn't even an empty mounting hole raise an eyebrow when you go to get a smog check? Or do you have a user friendly station? I need to get my first check by the end of the month but the switch is just velcroed on. The bigger issue is my AFE Bladerunner intake manifold. From what I understand it has been tested and reviewed by CARB but no results last I checked as to weather it will be street legal.
