DP tuner going in tomorrow. Anyone have different or inventive input on DP tuner switch mounting. I'm not totally thrilled about using velcro to mount it but atleast its not permanent. Pictures or links appreciated.
Also anyone heard about the custom mounting solution in the works? I mean to call them about the mount solution tomorrow. And to thank them. Everyone says it, but Jody really was was the nicest guy and a pleasure to talk to on the phone.
I have ESOF, I mounted my DP tuner switch right next to that. I fiqure my right hand is always on the shifter, good place for the switch. Wish I could take the credit for this good idea, but I got it from a guy over on TDS. I can take a pic if you want.
I've thought alot about mounting it near the ESOF. Just looking for other ideas. FTE users are very inventive and you never know what someone else smarter than you has thought up.
Here is mine, it envovled cutting a hole for the nine pin connector and a little RTV to make it stick. By the way, this unit was the first design of the F5, it still has the rotory switch and no DP-Tuner sticker.
This is not the most creative solution, but it's where I had my old 6 position DP switch mounted, so I already had a hole there and I thought I may as well cover it up. One thing I do like about where it's mounted, is it's within easy reach to change positions, and it's out of the way. Here's the pic:
Where does the wire come out of this gadget? I was thinking that it came out the bottom, but by the looks of the pics, it comes in from the rear? How large is the connector on the back?
Kris, it comes out of the back of the switch, pretty much in the middle - maybe just an 1/8" lower or so. It's a flat connector on a ribbon cable. The connector is about 3/4" wide and about 1/8" tall.

It comes from the back but maybe mines different. The plug faces down so it's kinda hard to get the ribbon cable hidden.
