So Since i Have to spend a ton of money anyways to get just a drag link, what would I need to do the cross over steering. Granted, I've only got 35's on my truck but I may look into getting a set of 38's for off road.
Is there more I would actually need, or what? Could I make my own set up for cheaper or about the same cost and not have to wait for the item to be shipped?
As always, any and all help is appriciated. Thanks in advance.
People have also used a chevy saginaw box that mounts to the outside of the highboy frame rails. I do know that you would have to make a drag link, but I am not sure if there is clearance issues with the shock mount or not.
well...I got the conversion done....the only problem I've run into is the drag link.
Because I didn't cut the cross member, I had to cut the radiator and core support to make room for everything so the drag link was a little bit to short so I lost some of my turning radius.
After doing a little big of research, most people seem to use two of the Moog ES444L and a adjusting sleeve to connect everything...
As anyone tried this?
I'll post some pictures of everything once I get a chance. It's super nice having power steering again.
Yeah...finally. We ran into a couple issues but nothing too bad.
1. Wasn't expecting there to be a lip on the frame, thought it was going to be flat.
2. Didn't cut the cross member so the box didn't sit as far back. lost some of my right hand turning radius (not that I had much to begin with). Going to look into getthing the "adjustable drag link" setup. Not quite sure what to look for honestly.
3. My steering wheel is crooked. I'm going to fix that this weekend, or attempt to at least.
