2007 navigator battery was dying periodically ended up pulling the #3 fuse after noticing the dvd player was cycling like it was trying to eject a dvd and it has stopped happening since. Anybody have an idea what the problem would be? Obviously electrical but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.
Sounds like you kinda found it already. Have you put the fuse back in to see if the DVD player continues this behavior? Do you have a multi-meter that reads amperage ? Put it on the negative battery cable and see what the draw is with that fuse in and out. Should be about .2-.4 amp or there abouts. Repair or replace the stereo unit.
Do you think it would be the unit itself or would it be in the wiring leading to it? I know you would have no idea on this particular situation but in general would it be more likely to be one or the other? I have checked the draw (can't remember the exact number) it was within tolerance but it was also not acting up at that time. I haven't been able to catch it while acting up to be able to measure draw. At this point I just leave the fuse pulled until the kiddos want to watch a movie and then pull it after the trip. Not very handy!!!
I had a stuck relay once that did that. The dvd unit does have power and is supposed to sleep. Did your kids try "feeding" the DVD player? My boy put a toaster waffle into our VCR a few years ago because he thought it was hungry - no joke...that really happened!
No not that I know of. Funny thing about the relay, not sure if related but my turn signals flash like a bulb is out but they are fine. Not sure what is going on. Help please!!

Did anybody put LED bulbs in the sockets? That will cause a fast flashing. I assume you've actually gone around and inspected the bulbs for proper operation.
I was hoping somebody would post a fix for this. I just bought a 2003 Navigator that has this same issue. The previous owner pulled the fuse and didn't worry about it since he didn't have kids.
