Hello, I have come across a potential deal on a 98 Expedition, its loaded, great shape, lower km's and the price is right. I am thinking of moving up in size from my explorer. This one has the 4.6L. My explorer has the 4.6L. Same engine, Hp etc? Not too familiar with the expedition and it is in a different city so I would have to get it inspected. Any items stand out on this year that I should have looked at other then the obvious stuff like brakes, wheel bearings and fluid levels etc. My brother in law had a 98 f150 with the 4.6L and it did him real well. Even hauled a small camper and pulled a boat without a problem. I wont be using it to haul trailers but if you have some opinions either good or bad about this year, lets hear them. I do understand it's used and i expect some issues, it's the "i wish i knew that" before i bought it issues that concearns me and here is a great place to get that info.
There reliable! Just check the suspension real well. I don't think it has Air suspension, If you test drive give it a nice Wide open Throttle WOT To see if you don't hear any strange noise.
