Shake the bad IDM and see if it has water in it. That's usually what gets them.
That was the first thing I did when I pulled it... No signs of water at all, at least not a "swhoosing" sound, I don't know if it's corroded at all inside or not but I know it was no good now.. I don't wanna break it open because most idm's I'm am findIng on eBay want the core back.. Any serios advantage you Guy know of for going with the 99-03 idm? the price is much higher for that era over 94.5-97, if it's really worth it I'll spend the money but from what I've read it's not that big of deal...?
whats the 140V mod? didn't know you could convert ours to run higher voltage. I grabbed a junk IDM from a yard and would be willing to try converting it if you wouldn't mind posting a link to the process.
