Well just wanted to report without starting a new thread. Changed the timing on my pump back to stock ( matched up the lines) and it stopped the noise for about 3 miles then came back. Also it now has a gray/white smoke condition. So bad injectors right? Thanks guys you have been a lot of help

All those lines tell you is that the pump is in the hole straight, you time it right you need a timing light with the part for the diesel

Hmmm well then the pump is in the hole strait ha. But like I said the knock went away but came back. So new injectors is my next step unless there is anymore ideas

Kind of, the marks are there so that during assembly the pump will be close enough in timing to be able to start it and then timing can be set correctly from there.
