Mine snapped off with 2 wires b roken in the middle. I bent/snapped some thick wood slat that stayed open and taped it to the lever and the **** to the other end securing it in place while i burned off some insulation , slipped some spagetti on and soldered them together and heated the shrink. Then it got epoxied which lasted about 8 years then they all broke.....i think it cost my 65-70 for a new one. connects at the bottom pin w/ a pigtail connector up top the coloum. not all that bad.
I never had this problem until now. Today I was driving around and it would not shift out of third until I shut it off and restarted it.
Could be something to do with the broken wire going up to the OD button. Maybe it's not completing a circuit that and it's messing with trans electrical system info. Just a guess though, I'm not much help when it comes to autos.
