Gauges

Im running a Edge Juice W/ Attitude right now and only use it to monitor boost and EGTs. It is the only aftermarket monitoring Ive got. This is my tow rig and I know Im overdue for a tranny temp gauge. Considering a digital type gauge to monitor many different parameters but cost is a factor plus Ive already got the Boost and EGTs covered with the Edge.
What tranny temp gauge should I get and where should I mount it? or do I save up and get the digital type setup.
I should add I don't like pillar mounts and plan to get a DP tuner after Im satisfied with gauges.

Edge? The transmission temperature is on the OBDII port and I would think you could select it... but you would know better than I.

If the Edge juice/attitude was like mine, it did not use the OBDII port, and so it did not have access to the trans temp. When had this setup, I bought the Isspro trans oil temp gauge and put it on a steering column mount. If I had it to do over again, I'd get an OBDII gauge like the Aeroforce Intercepter.

I like lower mounted gauges like Tugly did as well. When you go from the Edge to DP, you can continue to use the Edge for gauges, or do something like Tugly's pic, or this:

I put the EGT on the column, and the trans/boost/fuel pressure gauges below the cubby. Eventually I'll replace the trans oil temp with an OBDII gauge - its also a 2 1/16" gauge and should drop right in.

My Edge tuner is from 04 and only watches EGTs, Boost, RPM and defueling.

I really like that column gauge pod. Im thinking of going with that with either an strictly trans temp or an OBD11 type gauge.
Are tranny temps accurate off the OBD11 port?
Good to know I can still use my Edge with the DP.

If you like the digital monitor and plan on running our tunes, we do have the Infinity available as well. It does both monitoring, and tuning. It will cost about the same as buying a chip and gauges separately, but you get quite a few more features.

The trans temp is pretty accurate through the OBDII port. When I compared readings from my old analog gauges to readings done through the OBDII port, the biggest variance/difference I saw was about 5*.
