I need to put gauges on my truck, and really like the idea of the Bully Dog Outlook monitor, Edge Attitude monitor, or something of that fashion. I really like the idea of the digital gauges like that. Anyone have any suggestions? I dont know of anyone that has either around here so I am relying on your opinions. Thanks all-
Do you guys recommend analog? I just like the way that little box looks on the dash, but I am willing to have a 3-4 gauge pod if it is desired. I really want the readings to be close to real time otherwise they dont do much good, do they??
The sampling on the Edge is sufficient for me. I would say it is pretty close to real time. The only thing is that it does not monitor engine coolant temp, or trans. temp. Those gauges are easy to install, so I put'em on the pillar. I was quoted about $450 for a pyro, trans, boost set up, then add $300-350 for a tuner. So I got the Edge instead. Very happy with it, and the truck seems to love it.
You really need a tranny gauge and none of the electronic ones like you mentioned have that feature. So you can get an Outlook or Edge Juice /Attitude and then add a tranny gauge say on the steering column mount that Auto Meter makes, or just get a three gauge analog set up. If you want high tech Auto Meter has some stepper motor gauges, and or the new Nexus line that is waaaaay high tech sort of an analog with digital operations per say. Call us if you want we stock all the Auto Meters, Isspro and DiPriocls as well as all the mounts and necessary install items etc.
I recently went from Analog gauges to a BD X monitor,, I dont really see any difference in reaction times.EGT seems to go up and down just like it did with the Isspro's. I like the digital better than the Analog myself..
