Intake manifold gaskets are re-useable unless they are damaged.

well i am at 3600 ft altitude and my reader said while cranking the intake manifold pressure was 12.5 PSI and I am wondering if that is good or bad Ill look into get a reading off of the exhaust back pressure sensor and let you know what that is.

Correction, I do have voltage numbers for MAP

MAP_V 1.30 key on- 1.33 cranking- 1.40 at high idle (2,500 rpm) 0.5 - 4.5 operating range. VOLT Manifold Absolute Pressure

Map sensor is on the firewall and connects to the intake manifold by a hose on passenger side rail of intake manifold.

LG/BK wire is signal

Had to google that one but that looks about right, somewhere around 12 Pisa depending on the weather.

Emergency fuel shut off is behind passengers side kick panel. It has a button on top to reset.

well i might have found a problem the atmospheric pressure at my elevation is 12.87 PSI and while i crank the engine it does not change. To me the pressure should go up right? is there a way to test and see if my intake manifold gasket are shot? I was reading something about hooking up a vacuum pump to something and put a vacuum on it and see if it keep the vacuum?

Baro, map and EBP should match KOEO

Baro only changes with altitude and barometric pressure.

Map should be close to Baro at idle and crank

it didn't sound to good when i separated the manifold and the block and it was a little hard to push the intake bolts back thru to tighten them back down.

O so is there anyway to check to see if the intake gasket are still intact. On the torque app it says there is a intake manifold pressure sensor, stupid or kinda late question is that the MAP sensor?

I was thinking about trying to test to see if the ipr is still actually connected, because i never disconnected it but it was hit by alot of stuff while i was working on the engine. but if i am getting 2v out of the icp sensor than it has to be connected becasue the valve is closed to build up pressure right?

MAP is Manifold pressure.
BARO is barometric pressure
EBP is exhaust pressure

Engine makes virtually 0 boost when cranking with starter and very little (almost 0) at idle. Fuel is injected directly into cylinder so if air is not blocked somehow it should try to start even if intake gaskets are leaking.

ok so another thing i was worried about what that the icp sensor failed and as i replaced it there was oil on the on the plug so i cleaned it and sense i am getting a reading off of the wire than the plug would still be good right?
