Im thinking of buying this cold air intake? Anyone using this?
AEM 21-8104DP Brute force. If you are, how do you like it? I figure most of these intake systems basically all do the same thing. Just wanna see how my Powerstroke family likes it.
Powerstroke folks here like the stock system the best.
the comment over and over on here is that unless you are
going for in excess of 500 HP, leave the stock intake alone.
and leave the OEM air cleaner alone.
We're going to tell you to stay stock. We're going to say we don't like the intake you asked about because it's not stock. We aren't going to have any firsthand experience with this intake you asked about because we run stock filters.
My truck has a Banks CAI on it and it was on it when I bought it. I havent had any issues with it but would you guys suggest me removing it since I know how everyone feels about the factory setup. Problem is I dont have the factory to replace it with if I were to sell it. This brings me to the next question of asking price. I priced mine new and they run $400 all day long. Is at standing offer of $250 too high or even swapping for a factory with a lil to boot or swapping even? My wife has some swap shop thing on her facebook so I might list mine but have no idea for how much. Or should I just keep it even though its against the grain here.
Might even find a stock one at a pick-n-pull or other salvage yard. Or heck, since the OP wants a different set-up trade him!
This same topic came up over and over on the GM site I used to frequent. Same answer too: the stock flowed BETTER many times than the supposed "upgrade"...
