Oil change quandary!!
I'm new to this site and dont know my way around it too well yet so I'll just ask here and maybe somebody can help!
Im doing an oil change on my truck and I realize the previous owner was using the wix cap/filter one-piece combo, and I want to return to the oem filter. I have the oem cap and motorcraft filter but the center column spring assembly seems to be too high in the oil filter housing. I cant get my cap down enough for the thread to catch.
Is that center column spring removable or collapsable? I'm going crazy trying to figure this out.
