Unhappy egt problem

Early 1999 7.3, driverside cylinders are all around 150 deg at high idle, passengerside are all around 250, has a shake under load at lower rpms, bad fuel mileage, what could be wrong? No smoke issues, driver side has 2 new injectors, both sides have new uvch and glow plugs.

It sure sounds like a dead/weak hole on the driver side. I had the same symptoms (plus a bad knock) when my injector bolts came loose. I was a cheap bass turd and didn't buy a torque wrench until after I damaged a cup and ruined my vacation with a loose bolt. What torque did you set the injector bolts to?

Exercising the option it's not the bolts, how did you determine which injectors needed replacing?

Could get a temp gun and hit the exhaust manifolds and see what cyclinders are low on heat. That should tell you what hole, or injectors are bad. If you changed two already and all else is new, wiring etc., I would do all eight. Thats me,

The 2 that I replaced the exhaust temp was like 80 degrees. Its strange that the left bank is 100 degrees colder.

The center pins on the harness are at 4.5ish at idle.

Whuh? The UVCH center pin? That's an AC signal, not a DC voltage.

I was probably using misguided info for checking for power

I have a temp gun. While troubleshooting my injector woes, I learned that aiming at the manifold outside each cylinder can pinpoint the problem child. Example: I aimed at the manifold at #2 and got a reading of something like 75 degrees in a winter idle. Moving the sensor to #4, I got 150 degrees (or something like that), and the temperature kept going up until I reached 250 at the output of the manifold. Each good cylinder should add more heat to the manifold, with 250 being about right at the up pipe connector.

I'm curious how you concluded you needed to replace two injectors. Were they knocking? Did your engine have the same symptoms it has now? I assume you put two reman injectors in there. Where did you get them?

I used the infared gun and found 2 that were at 80 deg. There reman from a reputable shop out by me. (MDI) The rough running under load is a new issue. I did the injectors before winter.

1 and 2 should be about 80n degrees. 3 and 4 will be closer to 125-150 degrees, and the temps will keep building as you work your way to the rear of the truck.
