new Stancor 902 GPR...same problem
I also have a cheapo battery tester that plugs into the cigarette lighter which tells me when the GP's are done energizing before I start the truck . Occasionally , the GP's would not energize when I turned the key on so I would jump the GPR to get it fired up . So I bought a Stancor 586-902 from Mouser Electronics to replace the intermittent GPR . I thought I was going to have to replace a GP also so I bought 4 new ones from the stealership to replace them all when I was under the valve covers .
This past weekend , I took the passenger side valve cover off to find the connector partially unplugged . I pushed it back on then did a continuity test again and had that problem fixed , so I didn't replace any of the GP's . I also did the 25cent mod on that side . Then I torqued the injector hold downs and rocker retaining bolts . All the injector hold downs were loose . I then went to the drivers side and did the same procedure with the 25cent mod too . I put it all together and the truck sounds quieter to me now .
BUT.... the intermitent GPR energizing problem is still happening .

I'm stumped as to what to check in the way of wiring .
Do you guys think I might have a bad ground problem happening ??
Sometimes when the GPR doesn't energize and I hit the starter , The GPR will then energize .
Thank-you for your thoughts !
Romps are most typical on old injectors with dead dinos. 5-40 oil really helps to prevent romps in cold weather.
Crap , I hate wiring problems . Lots of places for problems to arise from .
I guess I will start by making sure I have good grounds and then go from there .
The hardest part of this will be because it is an intermittent problem . And mostly it happens when I got to go to work which makes it hard to do something to it because I have to be somewhere .
