Bellowed up pipes?

So I was cleaning my engine valley today and realized my ebpv was leaking, so i pulled it off and seen I had an exhaust leak where the up pipes come into the collector. Broke three bolts getting that off and ended up taking off one up pipe.

I'm considering just getting the bellowed up pipes from Riffraff. does any one know if they come with a new collector and hardware?

The only reason I'm hesitating is because I'm planning on stage 2 sticks and a turbo upgrade next winter and DP suggests the HSFB for stage 2's. The bellowed up pipes can't be used with the HSFB because the HSFB sets straight to the motor and the garrett sits at an angle.

So who all runs the garrett 38 with stage 2's and are you happy with it. i may get the up pipes now and go with the garrett 38 next year. Just dont want to spend the money then take them off in a year

When I bought the up pipes from Riffraff, they came with the collector, two metal gaskets and new hardware for the upper and lower connection points.

I'm gonna say it....

The Dorman bellowed uppies are less than half the price ($190), and several of us have installed them recently. I haven't heard of anyone that is not happy with them so far. You might have to grind a bolt or two, but for $250 in savings I was happy to. If you think you might be switching turbos in a year, you may want to go that route. When you switch, you should have no problem selling them to recover some of the money you spent on them. Same with the IH bellowed pipes, but you will be looking to recover a LOT more money.

38R will be just fine with stage 2 injectors. Its your choice.

Why would the up pipes need to be replaced when installing a 38r turbo? And what is the collector?

The "Collector" aka "Baby's butt" is where the 2 up pipes coming up from the manifold collect to join and drive the turbine housing of the turbo. 2 into 1 collector.

If your up pipes were in good condition when installing a 38R there would be no "need" to install them.

I'm going to second this.
I installed a set on a customer vehicle about 2 weeks ago, fit was great aside from having to cut the collector bolts down by 1/4". To me, this is not a problem at all, just a minor annoyance. There are no leaks and they work just as good as the International pipes, IMO.

If the Dorman pipes were around 3 years ago I would have those instead of the International ones...........

So, one should pay more than double for a product because?????????????
If they work and fit the same what's the difference in the end?

If I go with the HSFB turbo instead of the garrett 38 you have to ghange the up pipes because of the angle the HSFB sits. The stock up's wont work with it.

Thats what I'm thinking i'm gonna do. Then decide what turbo to go with later. Had a friend tell me to consider the T4 style turbos. I'll have to do some research.
