That's it, that's what you brought to the table?A farse of reality? Come on, give me a real debate. I'm waiting...
The big difference between u.s. steel and chinese steel will be pretty much negligible for our application. The metal does not rely on its tensile strength to do its job as an exhaust pipe. The 30psi or so it sees on the i.d. of the pipe from exhaust pressure will never test the limits of the metal... nor will the heat/cool cycles at the temps we see... at the levels of difference in anti corrosion elements again... we shouldnt see any difference in our application... thats 40 year steel easy.
I took a real close look at the set nickmike got and was thoroughly impressed. I would have no reservations about putting them on one of my customers trucks... i see no loss of qualitythat will make a difference... especially when It saves the customer 200$...

DELETE!! DELETE!!
That's what makes the difference between you and shops such as Riff Raff and Diesel Innovations, they do take heed as to what goes on their customer's trucks.
I trust you as a mechanic, Christof, no doubt there so your word is gold to myself, but not when it comes to my truck upon this debate is all, not on knock offs.

Right-e-o Brother... and i do always leave the decision with my customers... some prefer oem, some dont care as long as im comfortable with the part... the difference is that i Do inform them about the options... i dont like to be locked in as a customer to certain options... so i try not to make my customers feel that way...
I spent the money on ih bellowed pipes from clay...
But if i had known about the Dorman pipes then... i would probably already have a 6 pos chip, or AE too...
I just hit the go button and ordered my total ford enhanced bundle!
Somebody wanna add me to the map?
Don't take this the wrong way as in personally but it is you I am directly speaking with, it's you who is attempting to justify a lost cause.
You are not Riff Raff. You are not DI performance. I don't know what you have going on as for customers or a business but it's not on their level, not in any way shape or form. There's a reason they are world renowned as the best of the best and it's not because they sell and back knock offs.
Don't you think they know something you don't? If Dorman's were that good of an option don't you think the elitist of the pro's would be offering them?
you're respectfully married, but if you weren't women are nothing but a phone call away, bro. come on up, let's hang out. on me. my pleasure. anytime, bro.
expect a phone call, Christof. I feel I need to apologize to you for my words as I do respect you more than you know but what I said had to be said to prove a point but beware, I'll be *****ty and very friendly!

Lol its all good Preston. Just remember that in circumstances like this thread... a differing opinion, does not mean yours is wrong... there is nothing wrong with striving for the best quality out there...
I wish i had some extra scratch available... i need a night out... but clay just got another 359$ from me a couple hours ago... the foam from my mouth is building... cant wait till it gets here!
Momma is dragging me to S.A. tomorrow to go see jurrassic park at the imax... and a reptile expo... and who knows what will come home with us from that...
My bellowed up pipes where purchased on eBay for $220.
I think they are Dorman because I know for a fact they are not Internationals, has CHINA stamped on collector.
I took them to my local coating place Nd had them ceramic coated for $100.
This way even if the metal is of lesser quality it makes no difference.
Now here is the part where always reading up in the forum is important.
When installing the supplied bolts into the new collector the bolts would not fully seat.
(Hence everyone except me cutting the bolts)
Took impact wrench to it and broke off bolt!
Got PISSED cursed kicked a trash can over then looked at the other threaded hole on the collector and noticed it was not threaded all the way.
So I had to put the stock collector in place and get a broken bolt out of my new collector.
Told the guy on eBay I purchased it from and he said I would have to send everything back to get a new collector.
Bottom line; I'm pissed I purchased cheap crap, pissed about the customer service from the dude on eBay and pissed I have a brand new collector all pretty and coated sitting on my work bench. BUT my up pipes don't leak anymore, my turbo spools like a thread factory and its better to be pissed off then pissed on!!!
I was on the fence about this debate till I read this in another thread.
After seeing these Dorman down pipes on here I thought what a great option to the factory ones. SO I sent a message to Riff Raff about looking into these since they have a great Military grade heat coating offered. Well he answered me. RIFF RAFF: "Nick,
We looked into this about 6 months ago and decided to try testing a set before selling since we stopped using Dorman manifolds because they are terrible quality and had bad cracking issues while in use. The quality is sub par on the up-pipes as well, and the casting on the up-pipes cracked as well. While we would be very happy to be able to sell cheaper up-pipes we can't lower our standards to a bad product. We will stick with the International as they are made in the USA rather than China like the Dorman, and we have never had a single issue with them. Hope that makes sense, I just don't feel right selling a product that I wouldn't put on my own trucks. Let me know if I can help you further."
Evidently Clay has looked into these and even done a little testing. Here is a link to the thread.
Very well said!! They look the same, we get that. But common sense (which isn't so common there's days) should tell you that there's got to be a reason why they are soooo much cheaper!! I am so sick of things made in china!! THE downfall of the USA is when we started outsourcing and settling for less quality in favor of greed!!!!
