Front end updates for 2000 Excursion

Will the lamps and grille from an 02 to 04 SD bolt up and fit my 2000 Ex? Found a nice set on eBay.

Thanks.

Yes they will fit.

But if you go for the 2005-2007 it could look like this!

Looks great but I dont think those years will work with my bumper, hood, etc (or will it, if so I would go that route). I'm looking for some bolt on stuff for my 2000 limited. The stock Limited is a ittle to dressed up for me in front with the egg crate grille, etc. Looking for more a truck look

Will 02-04 stuff bolt on with the existing hood and bumper?

Yes, all the 2000 to 2004 will all interchange between truck and Excursion. The 2005-2007 truck stuff does require a bumper change, or a modification, thr lower portion of the grill can be cut off, or the bumper can be cut and welded and painted if you have access to those skills. One of the other guys here did the bumper cut trick. The grill cut is much easier for the one without those skills. The headlights will work from an 05-07, but requires an adapter for the plug, and some modification to the fiberglass header panel. If you search for 05 upgrade, there are many how-to's here.

Good luck, and welcome!

Sorry I reread the note and you answered my question about 02-04 fitting onm the front end of my 2000

After seeing yours with the 2005 front end I'm really thinking about that instead. How much of a mod was that?

Thanks.

Well, I had the road armor bumper already, but the header panel will run you new between $100 and $150. Grill will be $150 to $200 aftermarket. RA Bumper will be about a grand. Many people offer kits to do it for $1200 with a stock bumper. Friends have done it for less via wrecking yard or Craigslist parts. I like to scrounge till I find what I like...

Hope this helps!

Similar FTE thread about headlights:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...t-years-6.html

I had my local garage install the 02-04 Certifit replacements on my '00 X a couple of weeks ago. Initially, I though they might be too gaudy (which I was trying to avoid, I had purposely avoided all the over-the-top aftermarket options with multiple LEDs etc.), but in conjunction with the all clear L-shaped indicators & marker lights (installed by the previous owner), they actually look pretty good. The old lights were kind of a PITA to get out, but since my old lights were old & yellowed, I was going to chuck them anyway, so I think we might have ended up breaking one of the tabs on the old lens housing on one side to get it out. But anyway, the new 02-04 housing bolted right up pretty easily to the header panel on my '00 X. I tried to take a pic tonight with my phone, but the light was failing fast, so it came out pretty grainy & blurry. I'll take a better pic tomorrow, when it's light & post it up in the other thread.

Anyway, at least around town (I haven't taken them on a country B-road yet), I'm pretty happy with both the looks & performance of the newer '02-04 reflector style housing, in conjunction with an upgraded wiring harness from Susquehanna motorsports & PIAA 9007 Xtreme White Plus Bulbs (details in other linked thread).
