2000 F250 headlight and grille upgrade

Hi guys. I finally found the truck to keep. Its a 7.3 F250 4x4 crew cab that was a one owner truck but it got wrecked. The bumper, grille and hood are going to have to be replaced as well as whatever that fiberglass piece is behind the grille. I did a little searching and found were the fiberglass piece can be cut and the 05 headlights can be installed. I was curious if the 05 bumper and fiberglass piece, hood, and grille can all be just swapped out or what must go on? I think that the fenders and hood are the same but i know to go to the experts and see exactly what i have to do to get me rolling the right way! This is the truck that ive longed for and after 12 years i was finally able to buy it!

It is most definitely possible. I have done the front end swap everything matches up perfectly. Fenders and hood are the same, the only different pieces are the headlights, header panel (the fiberglass piece), grille and bumper. they all bolt right up. If you want to do the whole swap then i would suggest getting the 05 panel because the 05 grille clips are located in different spots then the earlier year model trucks. Also the old bumper brackets do not work on the new bumpers so you need the entire bumper assembly. If you need anything cleared up about it don't hesitate to ask its pretty simple to do.

Yes it can be done. Now I didn't do our 2002 F250 4x4 Crew cab's 05 XL front clip conversion but I do know the last and only other owner who did it and he said he just replaced the bumper and grille notice ours doesn't have 05 headlights. I personally like it this way but it is your opinion.

Next to a 02 F350 4x4 crew cab only change is a billet grille.

Check out how the bumper aligns with fenders those are the stock fenders 05 bumper and almost perfect alignment.

Best close up I have:

Redneck your truck looks sweet I like the old lights if i knew it would have looked like that i may have kept them lol. Also if you do the 05 bumper and get it after market i strongly suggest getting the OEM upper valence (the painted part). Most aftermarket ones dont line up right or fit well, i got into an accident and got my 04 bumper replaced for the 05 and naturally it was aftermarket but my valence doesn't fit too well and sticks out ob the sides. It also doesn't follow the bumper very well on the passenger side and sticks out even more. In the end if i had known i would have spent a little more for better fitment.

Thanks Xmontex4. It is a really nice truck. My favorite part about our 02 is that everybody thinks it is an 05 till they see the headlights then they are like what in the world is that. Not to mention ours is a lariat and most think it is an XL because of the black grille.

Just for reference about how an aftermarket valence may fit. You can see that on mine it sits lower than rednecks around my fenders. You cant tell well from the picture but it sticks out from the fender about 2" and slightly more on the passenger side. It looks fine from any angle except straight ahead lol, however i may be getting dome fender flares so it wont matter in the end.

Xmontex4 we are later to be putting on bushwacker bolt on style fender flares so the mud stays of the truck it will also erase the non line up. Of the fenders to the bumper. I know Jake (the previous owner) did a very well job putting this style front clip on and even painting the truck the colors it is himself. I just wish I could get back with him again so I can get some of our other trucks painted thier too.

Yes i like looking at all 3 of those trucks! I decided to just go with a billet grille and the 05 lights just because i saw a 05 driving down the road and have always thought to myself that i would never put one of those grilles in my truck! But i didnt think of putting billet in it! It looks great on xmontex truck Ive really always liked the lights and bumpers but ive never been able to see past the grille.... Now ive got to find a way to be able to hook up and adjust the new lights! Somewhere i had found a wiring kit but i cant think of who had it.

First off thanks for the comment on our 02. Secondly glad you found what you like. I hope it goes through smoothely. 3rd the only reason I don't change our grille is because it would add to much chrome and personally I like a little of chrome and a little of black.

How come black trucks are worth more!?lol. The black on the white really accents the lines and the new front end! Had i looked and seen xmontex's front end before i decided on what to do i probably would be spending a lot more $! Ive just never been a fan of those huge bars running accross. The billet and roll bar makes it seem like it was never there. Im going with the insert like your 02 tho. Im also going to add the fog lamps as they are cheap and easy it seems

I have no idea personally I will not buy a black vehicle. Being in Arizona the heat will just kill us. The white with the black runs the 05 look better. And I agree with the fog lights. I love the fog lights. Being on a back road as soon as I hit the backroad on goes the fog lights and I use them and the standard headlights helps me for watching out for the holes and such. The insert I am not sure what you are talking about.

Its like the billet grille in the f350 beside yours. As for the black, its just a preference of mine! Ive always liked a good clean black truck. The bad thing is i never keep mine clean! Normally on all my previous rides i paint everything black such as the bumpers, grilles and rear bumper with the only sign of polish coming off a grille insert. The white vehicles i had, they had everything painted white though. The mix of black and white, thats something you definitely dont see everyday yet it has a sweet look.

The white and black was from the original owner which whom was the last owner. He is a painter and all his dads and his trucks are this color but they use spray in bed liner for the bottom black. Usually our white truck is dirty to but 3 of the 7 fords we own are white and they stay the cleanest. Its your truck so go with your prefences. Pics when done though would love to see how it goes. Please of course.

Sorry i have not checked in in a while. RahRah, thank you for the comments on my truck. Redneck I also plan to put the same flares on my truck when i get new wheels and tires in the spring.

If you buy the headlights from riffraff (site sponsor) you can get headlight socket converters for 3 bucks for the pair. They are also the OEM headlights which are a much better quality than aftermarket ones. I got them from there and I would highly recommend it. If you want they do sell the black harley lights but I think its and extra $150 or you can paint the chrome ones like Tylus did. Also they only thing you have to watch out for is if you add the fog lights unless you keep the stock 99-04 bumper you will need the 99-04 fog light kit but then you will need to replace the lights with the 05 style fog light housings. if your keeping your stock bumper though its no big deal. I want to add them but I'm thinking that my bar and license plate (i moved it to the bar with a relocation kit) may cut off too much light to make it worth it. So another option which is what I might do is with a billet grille you can get some cheap fog lights and install them behind the grille. I put the 05 upfitters in my truck so i can just run them to there.

Xmontex4 I don't think with you bar on the bumper the lights would work good. I am trying to add a liscence plate bracket in the front of our 02 but haven't figured out how to do it yet.
